Stop at Pigeon Valley to see pigeon houses on slopes of valleys. Stop for photo at panoramic points ( Esentepe and Cevizlibağ )Then, Göreme Open Air Museum, awe-inspiring painted churches carved into the stones between the 7th and 13th centuries by exiled Christians This provides a window into the beliefs of the early Christians. Some of the churches as the Church of St. Barbara, the Church of the Serpent, the Church of the Sandal, the Church of the Apple and the Church of the Buckle. Then, head to Zelve – Paşabağ that the winding landscape is decorated at every twist and turn with a maze of cones, slopes and fairy chimneys, products of centuries of wind and rain, embraced the first example of monk’s chapel. Visit to Avanos located on the banks of the Kizilirmak, for traditional handicraft as pottery manufacturing by Hittite technique and Tiles & Plates. Back to hotel. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
DAY 3/ Optional hot air balloon early in the morning.
After breakfast at the hotel, Derinkuyu Underground City, the best example of the underground cities. Stop at Nar Göl (Crater Lake is the firmly proof of the region was the volcanic area. There is hot spring water by the lake. The magnificent scenery attracts photographers).Arrive to Ihlara Valley formed by the volcanic eruptions where the scenery is fascinating too and possible to visit rock cut churches with frescoes. On the way, visit the Agzikarahan Caravanserai, built in the 13th century Before back the hotel, visit the wine factory and taste of delicious Cappadocian wines. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
In the morning, head to Niğde for a visit to Eskigumus Monastery, the most impressive and most southerly of all Cappadocian monasteries, lost in history and rediscovered only in the mid-20th century. It is very well preserved and has some of the best-preserved frescoes in all of Cappadocia. . Then, 2 hrs drive to Tarsus the birthplace of St. Paul and the home to one of the first Christian churches in Asia Minor.Visit St. Paul’s Well and St. Paul’s Church where the Vatican organized the St. Paul Symposium and Ceremony in 1992 and 1993. Return to the hotel in the late evening.
Transfer to the airport for the morning flight to back to home with full of energy and dozens of good memories, may be the plans for the next holiday…
